More Than Senior Care
MeritCare is one of the earliest private companies specializing in professional Senior Care, with its headquarter in Chongqing - the largest city on Earth by city area. We were listed, by government, as the pilot company for the Combination of Medical Support and Senior Care. In addition, we are a proud member of both Chongqing Association of Senior care Service and Local Chamber of Commerce, where our executives serve as the VPs.
We have been proudly providing homes to older people in the Greater Chongqing Area since 2006 and frequently receiving awards as a senior service operator. For us though, it simply means that were providing good care, in environments that people are proud to call home.
Today we run 9 care homes (and 5 of them are located in National Senior Care Demonstration Districts), offering long-term care, dementia care, day care, respite care, and community services.
Throughout our history, we have constantly introduced new initiatives to improve the aging experience for older people, to empower our employees to make sure residents find pleasure in every day, and to challenge the negative attitudes, stereotypes and misconceptions toward older people.
We dont try and make things extraordinary - we know its the ordinary everyday things that matter most to a home. We pride ourselves on keeping the gap between service and management as small as possible - in fact you may bump into our senior executives doing a housekeeping shift or serving up meals as one of their regular hands-on days to see whats working well and what we can do differently.
We are always looking for new approaches, products, and services that enhance our care. Our experience tells us ideas can come from anywhere at any time. We usually make changes quickly and effectively when we identify an opportunity. To encourage people who have golden ideas to speak out, we have innovation awards and are willing to invest in young talents with contributions to senior living sector.

DEMENTIA FRIENDLY HOMES
For older people with dementia, the world is small. Even slightly complicated things lost their meaning. It’s the simple things that make life worth living: a friendly and safe home, and - if possible - doing what they feel like doing.
Our dementia friendly homes aim to keep your loved one’s hopes alive. Their way of living is our starting point. The necessary features of the interior, the public spaces, and the hi-techs we apply are all designed to meet their needs. We want our care to be transparent and, with this in mind, give relatives access to their loved one's care notes. In particular, our person-centered approach to dementia care focuses on creating feelings of belonging, while living a life filled with meaning, purpose, and contributions — we believe having dementia shouldn’t change that. As a result, our dementia friendly homes are set up for safe engagement in activities such as gardening, kitchen work, and other projects that provide the opportunity to use meaningful life skills and talents. We understand what families coping with dementia are going through and want to share our experience and support to guide your loved one through this journey.
